The following was forwarding to me by Pete from Tom Hicks: "#1 is Doug Crocker and #55 is Ralph Featherstone. That would mean they are first & second. Featherstone later ran a limited late model Camaro, and Crocker had a '73 Monte Carlo Late Model #38. Actually, this may be about 1965 as there was a picture in the Sarnia Observer of that same #1 with the LH front wheel parting company with the car. Not sure who the other two cars are..."

Tommy's Notes: Jimmy Howard's #38 and Gary Witter's #19 at the C.N.E. Stadium around 1960. The track at the C.N.E. wasn't the greatest - a tight, flat, and narrow 1/4 mile track - but the crowds for races at the stadium were always very large, averaging 8,600 fans in the 1958-1960 seasons, sometimes exceeding 14,000 for large events. Some great photos and a detailed history of CNE racing can be found on www.CanadianRacer.com Witter, of Kitchener, went on to compete successfully at Oswego in the Supermodified division, but his career was cut tragically short when he was killed in a crash during the 1971 International Classic 200. More photos and an excerpt from an Oswego program found here: http://www.jakessite.com/07/notforgot/witter/witter.html

"This one is Jack Greedy from 1964 or 1965 – I’m basing that on the wing (they where banned in late ’65)." Tommy's notes: Jack Greedy was a consistent front-runner in the Supermodified division, and also made trips to Oswego to race as well. Greedy retired from driving, but continued in the racing scene, purchasing Delaware Speedway near London and expanding it to it's current 1/2 mile configuration in the late 60's. His construction company lives on, despite his untimely death in 1988 at age 59. The Jack Greedy Limited website includes photos and history of Jack's racing career. www.JackGreedyLimited.com
