"And so begins our Tammy 10 series…..

This one is of the Tammy 10 team in the ‘50’s. I have never met Johnny MacIntyre- but I believe that is him in the white coveralls – he may possibly have even been the driver at that time. I have no idea who the other two gentlemen are. I know the picture has to be pre-’58. Because I think Al Kerr drove the Tammy 10 to the Delaware track Championship in ’58."
"Harvey Lennox 1960.

A nice shot of the first Tammy 10 that Leadfoot Lennox drove. The car was very sophisticated for its time, however it does not have fuel injection or champ style rear hubs (I believe it did have a quick change but not an open tube axle). An article in one of the local papers valued the car at $6,000 and I doubt that is far off. I believe the inflation factor from 1960 till now is about 7.5 times. Putting the car in the $45,000 range in today’s dollars which is probably about right. You can see Lennox is wearing the latest in safety apparel - a t-shirt. Actually if you look at old Indy photos from 1960 a lot of the driver’s helmets are not as state of the art as Lennox’s."
"We are closing in on the end of this exercise – until I get the rest of my collection back.

This is the 62 Tammy 10 that Lennox had a bunch of success in.

Not much to say about this car except that I understand it worked well.

This was the car that was reborn in ’63 to replace the previously unsuccessful version that had to be parked.

I’ve often wondered if parking the ’63 car was why McIntyre left the team – just speculating because I honestly don’t know.

Next up is a couple of shots from ’69 at Oswego."
"Sorry boys I’ve been busy and I have skipped one (the most successful T-10 the 1962 version) – I don’t know that I even have a picture of the 1961 car at all. This one is the 1963 version which was probably the least successful Tammy Ten. This car always surprised me because even as a little kid I could see that this car is much taller than the older Tammy 10’s (at least it appears so in the pictures). This car’s frame is also a bit of a “throwback” as it is more of a rail design as opposed to the ladder style that was actually very similar to the Championship roadster running at Indy at the time. To my eye the car even looks more “gangly” than any other T-10.

The car never really worked – I’m guessing frame flex – this car was actually replaced at mid season with the ’62 car and success immediately returned to the Tammy 10 team.

I have know idea what became of this car or the ’60 version of Tammy 10."
